SDMM's third ad featured Cynthia Siragusa of Rapid City, who suffers from multiple sclerosis. "It's so paralyzing and painful," she says, "sometimes you can't even move at all." She has found that only medical marijuana relieves her spasms and near paralysis, but for using her medicine, she risks incarceration. "I'm tired of living in fear," she pleads. "Please vote yes on 4."

Tony Ryan

In SDMM's second TV ad, retired police lieutenant Tony Ryan of Sioux Falls explained his support for SDMM's ballot measure. Ryan says, "I was a cop for 36 years. No police officer should have to arrest a terribly ill patient for using their medicine."

Valerie Hannah

SDMM's first TV ad featured Valerie Hannah of Deerfield, who suffers from unbelievable pain after being exposed to nerve gas when she served as a combat medic in the Gulf War. While the opiate-based painkillers left her in a drugged fog, medical marijuana allows her to function.
